Hanoi (VNA) - The Vietnam Trade Office in Spainhas warned domestic enterprises to be cautious when signing contracts withSpanish businesses to avoid risks.

The Vietnam Trade Office in Spain said that Spain is currently alarge consumer market for all of Vietnam's exported consumer goods industriesbecause of its large population of over 47 million people and quite highaverage income (about 36,700 USD/year). Furthermore, this is also a potentialniche market for direct domestic consumption of Vietnam's agricultural, aquaticproducts and tropical fruits and vegetables, especially off-season products andraw products that are suitable inputs for the highly developed export foodprocessing industry in Spain.

Spain attracts an average of over 80 million internationalvisitors annually with Europe's leading tourism service industry, resort facilitiesand cuisine. Therefore, this is a market opportunity for tourism relatedindustries (including handbags, suitcases, wallets, hats, umbrellas; handicraftproducts, rattan, bamboo, rush, carpets), textiles, footwear, wood and woodproducts, food ingredients, coffee and spice products of Vietnam.

To promote Vietnamese goods in the Spanish market, the VietnamTrade Office in Spain suggested Vietnamese businesses increasingly takeadvantage of incentives from the EU-Vietnam Free Trade Agreement (EVFTA).
