Hanoi (VNA) –Many localities are stepping up COVID-19 vaccination for vulnerable groups,including the elderly and people with underlying health conditions.

In Hanoi, the work is beingaccelerated, especially for the high-risk groups, with medical workers sent toprovide in-home vaccination for those who are unable to get to an inoculation location.

People of the targeted groupsreceive check-ups and advice before getting the jab and have their healthmonitored after that.

Meanwhile, leaders of northernQuang Ninh province have requested the local health sector to carry out in-homevaccination for high-risk and vulnerable groups so as to ensure that no one inthose groups are left without inoculation, especially the persons unable toaccess a vaccination site, except for those subject to contraindication.

The local health sector wasalso asked to further speed up administering a booster dose to people aged 18and above so as to complete the task by January 17. Besides, it will continue the vaccination for children aged 12 and over.

As of late January 13, Vietnam recorded 1,975,444 cases of COVID-19 in total,including 1,661,930 recoveries and 35,170 deaths.

By January12, the country had administered over 164.48 million doses ofvaccines , with more than 71.70 million people now fully inoculatedand over 14.31 million the third shots, according to the Ministryof Health./.

Vietnam, France collaborate in vaccine production technology transfer
