Ly Hoang Nam stops in India F4 Futures

Hanoi (VNA) - Vietnamese No 2 seed Ly Hoang Nam wasdefeated in the second round of the India F4 Futures tennis tournament on March21.

Nam, who is ranked 465th in the world, lost to Abhinav Sanmugam ofIndia, world No 968, 2-6, 6-2, 3-6.

Earlier, Nam beat KunalAndad of the hosts 6-2, 7-6 in the first round.

In the India F3 Futures, Nam finished second in the men’s singles after losingto Prajnesh Gunneswaran of India, world No 235, in the final.

The 21-year-old player also reached the finals in the men’s doubles at theIndia F2 event.

After this tournament, Nam will return home to compete for the national team inthe Davis Cup’s Asia/Oceania zone, Group 3 to be held in Hanoi on April 2-7.

The boy, born in the southern province of Tay Ninh, will be the key player forthe Vietnamese team in singles and doubles.-VNA
