Macca Nutrition Vietnam JSC will provide 95,000 boxes of milk worth 1 billion VND (43,000 USD) for more than 11,800 disadvantaged children in 15 provinces across the country.

Meanwhile, Mindalife JSC will help to build classrooms valued at 1 billion VND in the northern mountainous provinces of Dien Bien and Ha Giang during the 2020-2021 academic year.

Agreements to this effect were signed between the two companies and the National Fund for Vietnamese Children (NFVC) under the Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs (MoLISA) on September 15.

Speaking at the signing ceremony, Deputy Minister of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs Nguyen Thi Ha said 28 million children in Vietnam are in extremely difficult circumstances and 2.1 million others would fall into special conditions in need of support.

Over the past 28 years, NFVC has mobilised more than 7.1 trillion VND to support 33 million turns of underprivileged children across the country. Of the total capital, 130 billion VND was collected in 2019 and 25 billion VND in 2020.

This year, the fund has been used for drowning prevention among children and child care and protection amidst COVID-19, she added.

Ha used the occasion to call on donors, and domestic and foreign enterprises to make more contributions to the fund to assist the targeted children./.
