Illustrative image (Source: VNA) Hanoi (VNA) - Malaysia's Ministry of International Trade and Industry (MITI) has revisedanti-dumping duties imposed on imports of cold rolled coils of alloy andnon-alloy steel originating or exported from China, the Republic of Korea (RoK)and Vietnam.
According to the Trade Remedies Authority of Vietnam,anti-dumping duties for Vietnam would stand at 2-13.68 percent.
The duty is now set at two per cent for POSCO Vietnam Co Ltdand 13.68 percent for China Steel Sumikin Vietnam Joint Stock Co and others.
The revised anti-dumping duties are effective from May8, 2019 to May 23, 2021.
The anti-dumping duties for Chinese steel producers are now35.89 percent and 42.08 percent, while for Korean producers they have been setat 11.55 percent and 21.64 percent.
The Malaysian Government on November 9, 2018 initiated aninvestigation into anti-dumping duties imposed on imports of cold rolled coilsof alloy and non-alloy steel originating from the three countries based on apetition filed by CSC Steel Sdn. Bhd. on behalf of the domestic industry.
The petition claimed there had been a substantialchange in the dumping margin for imports of subject merchandise by producers orexporters from China, the RoK and Vietnam since the imposition ofthe anti-dumping duties on imports of cold rolled coils of alloy andnon-alloy steel on May 24, 2016, according to MITI’s press release.
In early April, Malaysia announced it would initiate ananti-dumping duty investigation into imports of cold-rolled coils of ironor non-alloy steel originating or exported from four countries, including Vietnam,China, Japan and the RoK based on a petition lodged byMalaysian producer Mycron Steel CRC Sdn Bdh.-VNA
