Malaysia has announced that it plans to tighten up management of foreign residents, according to the Home Minister Hishammuddin Tun Hussein on January 6 in Kuala Lumpur.
Foreigners living and working in the country, including students, overseas agencies and businesses will all have their identities checked, said the minister.
He also confirmed that the move is to prevent immigration from becoming a serious issue and not create a situation where forced repatriations were necessary./.
ESCAP, UK launch new initiative to promote green investment in Southeast Asia
