The 28th SEA Games wrapped up in Singapore on June 16 with the region’s attention shifted to Malaysia, the host of the 2017 games.
At the closing ceremony, Malaysian Youth and Sports Minister Khairy Jamaluddin received the Sea Games Federation flag from Singapore to become the host of the next edition.
This will be the six times Malaysia host the biggest biennial event in the region.
Minister Khairy Jamaluddin is also the Chairman of the Sea Games 2017 Organising Committee.
The 2017 Games marks a special milestone in the country’s history as it will take place on the occasion of Malaysia’s 60th anniversary of independence.-VNA
