The Ho Chi Minh City Young Workers Support Centre will host a 2013 mass wedding ceremony for 100 worker couples on September 2, the centre has announced in a recent press briefing.

According to the organisers, the registration deadline is August 15. Joining the event, each couple will be offered a pair of wedding rings, a pair of Vietcombank ATM cards worth 2 million VND and a bridal banquet at the Grand Palace Wedding Centre.

Other services including costumes, cars, cakes, flowers, photographs, and make-up are free of charge.

Besides, the couples will have a chance to participate in training courses on skills to build happy families and on family financial planning, parenting, reproductive health and legal knowledge. They will also attend other outdoor activities for free.

According to Huynh Ngo Tinh, Director of the Centre, the mass wedding ceremony aims to ease financial difficulty for young workers as well as to popularise civilized wedding lifestyle.

So far the centre has got positive feedback from the society, especially young workers and their families, for organizing such collective weddings.

The collective wedding, to be broadcast live from the Grand Palace Wedding Centre, will be held with numerous activities, including an incense offering to Uncle Ho at the President Ho Chi Minh Monument and an electric bike parade through the city's downtown.-VNA
