The Vietnam-Uzbekistan Friendship Association (VUFA) on August 28 held a meeting to mark Uzbekistan’s Independence Day and Vietnam’ National Day in Hanoi.
Attending the event were representatives from the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organisations, the Uzbekistan’s honorary consul general in Vietnam Le Van Nghia along with people who used to live and work in Uzbekistan.
Addressing the meeting, chairman of VUFA Luong Phan Cu praised the fine traditional friendship between the two countries, adding that although bilateral economic cooperation has yet to match the potential of each country, their relations have been strengthened through more exchange of delegations.
He also expressed thanks to Uzbek teachers and people who had assisted Vietnamese students during their study in the country.
The honorary consul general of Uzbekistan said the consulate office will coordinate with the Vietnamese side to hold cultural exchanges to strengthen mutual understanding between the two countries./.
