Hanoi (VNA) – Sixteen projects worth over 94 trillion VND (4 billion USD) are planned to be implemented in the Mekong Delta to help the region respond to climate change.
Since March 2022, the Ministry of Planning and Investment (MPI) has worked with six development partners in organising over 10 fact-finding tours and working sessions with 13 Mekong Delta localities and the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development on the projects’ scales and technical standards.
The MPI is completing the contents based on ideas of leaders of the Government, ministries, sectors and localities; and to submit proposals to the Government for approval in June, and the investment plan for approval in December.
The Mekong Delta, which is most affected by climate change in Vietnam, comprises Can Tho city, and Long An, Tien Giang, Dong Thap, Vinh Long, Tra Vinh, Hau Giang, Soc Trang, Ben Tre, An Giang, Kien Giang, Bac Lieu and Ca Mau provinces./.
