A conference between high-ranking officials of nations along the Mekong River was held in Hanoi on May 19 to discuss cooperation in combating drug smuggling.
Joint efforts to combat drug trafficking between Cambodia, China, Laos, Myanmar, Thailand, Vietnam and the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime have made major contributions to the fight against drug crimes in the region over the past 20 years.
The conference was considered an important platform to exchange information and experience between regional countries on the issue and uncover solutions for bilateral and multilateral efforts.
The event was organised by the Ministry of Public Security and the National Committee for AIDS, Drug and Prostitution Prevention and Control.-VNA
