Memories of President Ho Chi Minh among OVs in Thailand

On his journey to seek a way towards national salvation, President Ho Chi Minh travelled to many countries around the world. During his time in Thailand, from July 1928 to the end of 1929, Uncle Ho made an unforgettable impression on the overseas Vietnamese community in the country.

A researcher on his time in Thailand, Dr Truong Thi Hang, a lecturer at a Thai university and co-author of the book “President Ho Chi Minh: The one who laid the foundation for the modern Vietnam-Thailand relations”, said Uncle Ho’s presence in Thailand aroused patriotism among overseas Vietnamese and strengthened their desire for national salvation in the Fatherland.

The overseas Vietnamese community in Thailand has always been aware of preserving the nation’s traditional values, spreading patriotism among young people and helping children understand their heritage.

The patriotic spirit aroused by President Ho Chi Minh during his time in Thailand has been continued to this day by Vietnamese expatriates./
