However, it will be hard to see the meteor shower in the country dueto thick cloud and smog, said Nguyen Duc Phuong, Secretary General ofthe Vietnam Astronomy and Cosmography Association.

TheLyrids, which is a medium-sized meteor shower, began on April 16 andwill end on April 26, with the maximum frequency of meteors occurringduring the nights of April 21 and 22. At this time, meteor activity canreach about 20 meteors per hour, Phuong said.

Phuong addedsome astronomy clubs in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City will gather toobserve this event if the weather is fine. The best place to observesuch showers is somewhere dark, away from light pollution, and with themoon out of the field of vision.-VNA

19 localities eradicate substandard houses

Vietnam accelerates repatriation of citizens detained in Myanmar
