Vietnamese astronomy enthusiasts will have a chance to observe the Perseid meteor shower, one of the two largest meteor showers this year.

The Perseid meteor shower, which occurs every year between July 17 and August 24, will peak in the intervening night of August 12 and 13, before dawn.

The best time to view the meteor shower is after 1am, when 60 to 100 meteors will be visible within an hour.

This year, the peak of Perseid meteor shower does not occur during the full moon period, so people will be able to see it clearly.

The shower is best seen in the north-eastern section of the sky. Viewers should choose dark places and less polluted areas.-VNA
