Microsoft Office Specialist World Champs qualifying round opens

Thai Nguyen (VNA) – The national qualifying round of the 2016 Microsoft Office Specialist World Championship (MOSWC) in Thai Nguyen province opened on April 24.

The event drew 92 contestants from northern mountainous provinces of Thai Nguyen, Ha Giang and Son La who are winners of grassroots-level competitions.

They will be tested in the competence of using Microsoft Office Word 2010, 2013, Microsoft Excel 2010, 2013 and Microsoft PowerPoint 2010, 2013.

The national qualifying round is also taking place in Hanoi, Hai Phong, Da Nang, Ho Chi Minh City and the Mekong Delta province of An Giang.

Thirty best students in each skill will go to the national final round where six winners, one in each skill, will become Vietnam’s MOS 2016 ambassadors and compete at the world finals in Orlando, Florida, the United States, from August 7-10.

Organised by the US-based Certiport Group, MOSWC is an annual contest on Microsoft Office skills for students aged between 13 and 22 all over the world.-VNA

Quang Ngai to remove hundreds of unregistered fishing vessels

To date, Quang Ngai has 5,194 registered fishing vessels, with data regularly updated in the National Fisheries Database (VNFishbase). A total of 351 communes free of temporary, dilapidated houses

From February 21-28, 7,540 temporary and dilapidated houses were renovated or replaced nationwide, bringing the total number of facilities improved under humanitarian policy to 115,481. Of these, 62,737 houses were inaugurated, while construction began on another 52,744.
