Joining voters across the country, constituents of the Vietnam People’s Army exercised the right and duty to vote on May 23 to select deputies to the 15th National Assembly and all-level People’s Councils for 2021-2026.

Hanoi (VNA) – Joiningvoters across the country, constituents of the Vietnam People’s Army exercisedthe right and duty to vote on May 23 to select deputies to the 15th National Assembly and all-level People’s Councils for 2021-2026.

Sen. Lt. Gen. Phan Van Giang,Vice Secretary of the Central Military Commission and Minister of NationalDefence, was the first to drop off ballots at a polling station in Dien Bienward of Hanoi’s Ba Dinh district in the morning.

Meanwhile, Gen. Luong Cuong, memberof the Politburo and the Central Military Commission’s Standing Board andChairman of the army’s General Department of Politics, cast his votes in CuaDong ward, Hanoi’s Hoan Kiem district.

He was also joined by thevice chairmen of the General Department of Politics, including Sen. Lt. Gen.Tran Quang Phuong, Lt. Gen. Trinh Van Quyet, and Sen. Lt. Gen. Do Can.

The Vietnam People’s Army has33 candidates in the NA election and 1,108 others in the People’s Councilelections, including 99 candidates for seats in provincial-level People’sCouncils, 781 for district-level People’s Councils, and 228 for communal-levelPeople’s Councils.

The military units performingsea, island, and border safeguarding duties and those tasked with protectingthe elections were allowed to hold early voting on May 4 and 22.

On the electionday, nearly 69.2 million voters nationwide will select 500 deputies to the 15thNA, nearly 4,000 to provincial-level People’s Councils, almost 23,000 todistrict-level People’s Councils, and over 240,000 to communal-level People’sCouncils./.

Bru–Van Kieu community in Quang Tri gear up for early voting

According to the provincial Election Committee, three polling stations in Truong Son commune – located in Hoi Ray, Nuoc Dang and Doc May villages – will organise voting on March 8, seven days before the nationwide election of deputies to the 16th National Assembly and People’s Councils at all levels for the 2026–2031 tenure, to make it easier for residents in remote areas where travel remains difficult to cast their ballots.

This year’s award went to a group of female scientists from Hanoi University of Science and Technology for their research cluster on applying biocatalysis to enhance the value of Vietnamese agricultural products. Vietnam co-chairs 5th ASEAN–UK joint cooperation committee meeting

Early voting completed in Con Dao special zone

Vietnam, Russia step up cooperation in civil defence, emergency response

Looking ahead, the Vietnamese side expressed its wish that the two sides would continue to promote cooperation, focusing on the exchange of delegations at all levels, training programmes, sharing of experience in civil defence, disaster prevention and emergency management, and exploring search and rescue equipment.
