Mining Vietnam 2014 returns to Hanoi

This offers an opportunity or local mining businesses and experts to seek partners and expand cooperation in regional and global markets.

Addressing the opening ceremony, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Le Duong Quang emphasised the important role of the mining industry in the country’s socio-economic development. It accounts for 10-11 percent of Vietnam’s gross domestic product (GDP) each year.

According to the Vietnam mineral development strategy to 2020 with a vision to 2030, the industry will be developed with the application of advanced technologies and raise the mineral recovery coefficient. Its units continue to upgrade and modernise technologies and mining and processing equipment.

The three-day event witnesses the participation of 150 companies from 30 countries and territories, including Austria, China, Czech Republic, Germany, Finland and the UK.

A seminar on Australia’s latest mining technologies and equipment also takes place at Mining Vietnam 2014.

The first Mining Vietnam in 2012 attracted 126 domestic and foreign businesses.-VNA
