Minister of Public Security, General Tran Dai Quang met with outgoing Chinese Ambassador Kong Xuanyou and new Thai Ambassador Panyarak Poolthup on separate occasions in Hanoi on April 2.

Minister Quang hailed the Chinese diplomat’s contribution to the Vietnam – China’s comprehensive strategic partnership during his tenure, adding that Vietnam always treasures its ties with China.

He expressed his hope that Kong will continue to foster bilateral cooperation and relations between both countries as well as that between the Vietnamese Ministry of Public Security and Chinese law enforcement bodies.

In response, the ambassador affirmed that he will do his utmost to further develop the relations for their development.

Talking to the new Thai Ambassador, Quang noted that the cooperation between the Vietnamese ministry and Thai relevant agencies has always been fortified, notably in the exchange of trans-national crime information.

He said he hopes that in the new position, the Thai diplomat will work hard to drive the Vietnam – Thailand’s strategic partnership intensively.

Speaking highly of the development in the bilateral relations, the Thai diplomat said he will exert every effort to bolster ties between both countries and those between the Vietnamese ministry and the Thai partners.-VNA
