To strengthen traffic order and safety to serve travel on the last day of the Tet holiday (February 22) and the spring festive season, the PM requested the Ministry of Public Security to increase personnel and patrol vehicles to monitor traffic safety on expressways, local roads, and for passenger transport, particularly double-decker sleeper buses.
Vietnam has unveiled a long-term road infrastructure plan that would see nearly 9,000 kilometres of expressways built by 2050, as the country seeks to keep pace with rapid urbanisation, rising traffic and growing freight demand.

By the end of 2025, a total of 3,345 km of main expressway routes had been put into operation or technically opened to traffic, along with 458 km of interchanges and connecting roads. This brought the total length to 3,803 km, far exceeding the target of 3,000 km.
If implemented, the change would mean no passenger trains passing through the stretch of track between Hanoi Station and Long Bien Station, where the café-lined railway runs through densely populated neighbourhoods in the inner city.
According to the decree, the information system and database on housing and the real estate market will be built and managed uniformly from the central to local levels.
The Party and State continue to define infrastructure development as one of the three strategic breakthroughs, with priority given to building comprehensive and modern infrastructure, particularly transport facilities, technological infrastructure, and green – digital transition infrastructure, to help realise the national target of double-digit growth, the PM said.
