- Minister of Industry and Trade TranTuan Anh has asked agencies and organisations in all localities to strengthenthe fight against corruption and trade fraud.

The call came in the minister's recent decision to implementthe National Assembly’s resolution requesting ministries address the issuesraised in oral questioning in the 8th meeting of the 14th National Assemblylast November.

The decision requires the General Department of MarketSurveillance to work with other agencies and local authorities to inspect,prevent and control smuggled and counterfeit goods, low-quality goods and goodswithout clear origin and violating national sovereignty.

The Department of Import and Export will build an import andexport strategy for 2020-2030.

The department also needs to issue regulations on how toidentify Vietnamese goods or made-in-Vietnam goods, while monitoring theissuance of certificates of origin and strictly handling fake Vietnamese origingoods.

In addition, the minister asked departments of TradePromotion, Import and Export and Overseas Markets to propose solutions torenovate trade promotion activities to diversify export markets, reducingreliance on certain markets.

It also asked the Department of Trade Remedies to supportenterprises in handling trade disputes, providing information and marketwarnings for exporters, as well as implementing trade remedies to protectdomestic industries.

The Competition and Consumer Authority needs to strictlymanage and supervise multi-level business activities.

The E-commerce and Digital Economy Agency will study andcomplete policies and laws on e-commerce, build an ecosystem for e-commerce anddigital economy while monitoring the quality of goods traded online.

The decision also assigned the Department of Electricity andRenewable Energy, Electricity Regulatory Authority to review inadequacies inthe planning, investment and operation of power projects, especially solarpower projects.

At the same time, they shall propose mechanisms and solutionsto soon put delayed power projects in the master plan for 2011-20 intooperation to meet electricity demand this year and beyond.

According to the decision, building mechanisms and policiesto encourage technological innovation, manufacturing mechanical products anddeveloping the support industry is a priority of the Department of Industrythis year./.

Transparent business environment appealing to foreign investors

During the first half of 2025, the total registered FDI reached 21.51 billion USD, up 32.6% year-over-year. This includes 9.3 billion USD in new investments, down 9.6%; 8.95 billion USD in additional capital for existing projects, a 2.2-fold increase; and 3.28 billion USD through capital contributions and share purchases, up 73.6%.
