Mobile kitchen brings warmth to flood-zone residents

After days of isolation due to floods, transportation in several communes of Bac Ha District, Lao Cai Province, has been restored. To help residents quickly stabilise their lives, hundreds of volunteer groups from across the country have joined local authorities in providing practical support.

After more than four days of traveling from the central city of Da Nang, the mobile charity kitchen named "Field Kitchen" arrived in Nam Luc Commune, Bac Ha District. Fresh produce like pumpkin, potatoes, eggplant, and seafood from the central region was prepared on-site.

The kitchen serves three meals daily, preparing 500 to 700 portions, adjusting as needed based on the demand of locals and frontline workers.

In collaboration with local authorities, these hot meals are delivered to those still isolated and to the soldiers stationed on the frontlines.

Providing support to those in flood-hit areas is not just an effort of volunteer groups but also a shared aspiration of many individuals and organisations.

The mobile kitchen is expected to continue operating until the lives of the flood-affected residents return to normal./.
