Hanoi (VNA) – The Vietnamese Embassy inCuba held a ceremony to pay tribute to late President Ho Chi Minh on the occasionof the 77th National Day and his 53rd death anniversary.

On September 2, 1945 at Hanoi’s Ba Dinh Square,President Ho Chi Minh delivered the Declaration of Independence declaring thebirth of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam (now the Socialist Republic ofVietnam). The Declaration, which demonstrates the strong will and aspirationsof Vietnamese people, remain deeply topical both at home and abroad after 77years.

Vietnamese Ambassador Le Thanh Tung and deputy head ofthe External Relations Department of the Communist Party of Cuba CentralCommittee Juan Carlos Marsan Juan Carlos Marsan and President of the CubanInstitute of Friendship with Peoples (ICAP) Fernando Gonzalez Llort laid awreath in memory of the late President.

ICAP Vice President Victor Gaute stressed thatPresident Ho Chi Minh’s life, career and ideology have given inspirations to Cubanpeople, and praised the fraternity and solidarity between the two nations.

As part of activities to celebrate the 77th anniversary of the August Revolution (August 19) and National Day (September 2),the Vietnamese Embassy in Venezuela organised an art performance at theNational Museum of Fine Arts (Museo Nacional de Bellas Artes), with theparticipation of Venezuelan officials.

On this occasion, the embassy also held an exhibition featuring33 photos on the land, people and culture of Vietnam, and introduced someVietnamese traditional dishes to the guests.

The Vietnamese Embassy in Egypt also hosted a ceremonyon September 1-2 to mark the National Day.

Present at the event, Ambassador Ayman Kamel, Egypt'sAssistant Foreign Minister for Asian Affairs, affirmed that the relationship betweenVietnam and Egypt is being expanded in politics, economy, culture and nationaldefence-security.

He suggested the two countries continue with high-rankingdelegation exchanges in the time ahead, and further tap their potential forcollaboration in culture and tourism.

The ambassador also expressed his wish that there willbe more Vietnamese investors in Egypt./.

Vietnamese in Laos, Singapore honour President Ho Chi Minh on National Day
