The General Hospital in Central Highlands Dak Nong province and Smile Train on July 5-6 offered free corrective surgeries for 50 children with cleft palate in the Central Highlands.

Besides free operation, the children were provided with transport fees, accommodations and other gifts.

This is the third time Smile Train has visited Dak Nong to help with bringing back smiles for children with cleft palate, especially those from ethnic minorities groups and in remote and mountainous areas.

Under the programme, basic techniques will be gradually transferred to doctors in the Dak Nong General Hospital so they will be able to master similar surgeries in the future.-VNA
