More hydropower plant put into operation

The Vinh Son 5 Hydropower Plant in the central province of Binh Dinh was officially put into operation on April 9 after three months of trial run.
The Vinh Son 5 Hydropower Plant in the central province of Binh Dinh wasofficially put into operation on April 9 after three months of trialrun.

Construction on the plant started in 2009 and completed in late 2013.

Built at a cost of about 900 billion VND (42.3 million USD), theplant comprises two turbines with a total capacity of 28 MW. It isexpected to contribute 90-100 million kWh of electricity to the nationalgrid each year.

The plant’s full operation will help increase the country’s power source and improve local people’s living conditions.-VNA
