The Vietnamese Embassy in Belgium on Sept. 6 held a ceremony to markthe 66 th anniversary of Vietnam ’s August Revolution and NationalDay (Sept. 2).
Addressing the event, VietnameseAmbassador to Belgium and Luxemburg Pham Sanh Chau spoke highly ofthe development of Vietnam-Belgium cooperation in various fields.
Belgium is now Vietnam ’s fifth-largest European export market,Chau said, adding that the two countries are working on manycooperative projects worth millions of USD in science and technology.
On the occasion, Ambassador Chau, who is also Head ofthe Vietnamese Delegation to the EU, thanked the Belgium Government andpeople for their efficient support, especially Belgium ’s selection ofVietnam as the only Asian nation to be assisted with officialdevelopment assistance (ODA).
Chau said he hopedthat the two sides would strengthen their cooperation and mutual supportto elevate relations between Vietnam and EU, as well as Belgium , toa new height, while contributing to consolidating cooperation withASEAN at a time when Vietnam is holding the post of the Chair of theASEAN Brussels Committee (ABC).
Earlier, theVietnamese Embassy in the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK)hosted a banquet to celebrate the National Day anniversary.
Speaking at the function, Vietnamese Ambassador to the DPRK Le QuangBa said the Party, State and people of Vietnam always attachimportance to the cooperation and friendship with the DPRK Party, Stateand people and would make every effort to cultivate and develop the finetraditional relationship.
His views were echoed byDPRK Minister of Foreign Trade Ri Ryong Nam, who said the governmentand people of the DPRK always treasure the traditional friendship andcooperation with Vietnam and would do their utmost to enhance therelationship in all fields./.
