More students receive Odon Vallet scholarships

outstanding students in the central region of Vietnam, at a ceremony
in Da Nang City .

The beneficiaries included students living in difficulty or belonging to ethnic minority groups in Da Nang city and Quang Nam , Quang Ngai, Binh Dinh and Phu Yen provinces.
The Odon Vallet scholarship fund came to Vietnam via the “Meet Vietnam” organisation founded by overseas Vietnamese Professor Tran Thanh Van.
Over the past 13 years, Prof. Odon Vallet has spent all of his saving money on scholarships for poor high school and university students in France and Vietnam as an encouragement for them to pursue their study.
Since 2001, he has presented over 20,000 scholarships totaling more than 100 billion VND (4.7 million USD) to Vietnamese students through the Meet Vietnam organisation.
So far this year, 2,250 Odon Vallet scholarships, worth nearly 19 billion VND (898,000 USD), have been granted to outstanding students across the country.-VNA
