More students receive Odon Vallet scholarships

The Rencontre du Vietnam (Meet Vietnam) organisation on September 1 presented 207 Odon Vallet scholarships worth over 1.7 billion VND to outstanding students in the central region of Vietnam, at a ceremony in Da Nang City .

The beneficiaries includedstudents living in difficulty or belonging to ethnic minority groups inDa Nang city and Quang Nam , Quang Ngai, Binh Dinh and Phu Yenprovinces.

The Odon Vallet scholarship fund cameto Vietnam via the “Meet Vietnam” organisation founded by overseasVietnamese Professor Tran Thanh Van.

Overthe past 13 years, Prof. Odon Vallet has spent all of his saving moneyon scholarships for poor high school and university students in Franceand Vietnam as an encouragement for them to pursue their study.

Since 2001, he has presented over 20,000scholarships totaling more than 100 billion VND (4.7 million USD) toVietnamese students through the Meet Vietnam organisation.

So far this year, 2,250 Odon Vallet scholarships, worth nearly 19billion VND (898,000 USD), have been granted to outstanding studentsacross the country.-VNA

Hanoi plans to build huge public spaces around Hoan Kiem Lake

Thai Binh aims to eradicate substandard housing ahead of schedule

Thai Binh province has identified 2,106 eligible households—1,164 requiring new homes and 942 needing home repairs. Each new house receives 100 million VND in aid, while 50 million VND is provided for each repaired home. The total budget for the 2024-2025 period is 163.5 billion VND (6.4 million USD).

Vietnamese students honoured at Asahi scholarship graduation ceremony in Japan

Vietnamese students achieved remarkable successes, excelling in various categories. Seven out of 22 students passed the N1 level of the Japanese Language Proficiency Test - the highest level - while 16 out of 34 students received the special award. Notably, some Vietnamese students were recognised for outstanding achievements in all three award categories.
