The 705 International Cooperation Company on May 19 handed over 250,000 antibacterial face masks, 30,000 cloth masks, 750kg of Chloramine B chemical flour and 3,500 hand sanitizers worth 1.9 billion VND (82,278 USD) as a gift of the Vietnam People’s Army’s Military Region 2 to provinces and units in North Laos to combat the COVID-19 pandemic.

Vientiane (VNA) – The 705 International Cooperation Company on May 19handed over 250,000 antibacterial face masks, 30,000 cloth masks, 750kg of ChloramineB chemical flour and 3,500 hand sanitizers worth 1.9 billion VND (82,278 USD)as a gift of the Vietnam People’s Army’s Military Region 2 to provinces andunits in North Laos to combat the COVID-19 pandemic.

Colonel Bui Van Dai, member of the Party Committee of MilitaryRegion 2 and the company’s chairman, said that the gift demonstrates theprofound attention and close sentiments of the military region’s Party Committeeand units towards northern Lao provinces and units.

Chief of the Lao People's Armed Forces’ Infantry DivisionMajor General Sayavong Saynamthilath expressed his profound gratitude andaffirmed the medical supplies will be handed over to right persons.

On the same day, at the headquarters of the Lao HealthMinistry, representatives of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union Central Committee and thefamily of donor Tran Viet Tuan presented over 300,000 medical face masks worth10,000 USD to support Laos’ fight against the pandemic.

The face masks then will be delivered to Laos’ CentralCommittee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control, the Lao Youth Union CentralCommittee, the overseas Vietnamese Association in Vientiane, the coordinatingboard of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha in Laos, and the Vietnamese Embassy in thecountry./.

Da Nang tightens fishing vessel management to have EC's IUU yellow card lifted

Under the official dispatch, commune and ward-level authorities must closely monitor every non-compliant fishing vessel within their jurisdiction. Vessel owners are prohibited from taking their boats to sea without complete legal documents and are required to remove all fishing gear and equipment from vessels that are not eligible to operate.
