WashingtonDC (VNA) – Local officials of the Vietnamese provinces of Quang Tri,Dong Nai, Long An and Ba Ria-Vung Tau promoted their advantages and potentialin San Francisco on July 13-14, within the framework of the Vietnam PromotionRoadshow in the United States (VPR USA-2017).

The delegation had meetings with Mayor of the city Edwin Lee and Senior PolicyAdvisor to Governor Jerry Brown of California State Ken Alex.

Duringthe meetings, Nguyen Van Hung, Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman ofthe People’s Council of central Quang Tri province, said that this is the firsttime the VPR has been organised, and the US, including San Francisco, wasselected as the first destination.

Thismove is to realise the outcomes of the official visit to the country made byPrime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc in May, he stated.

Heaffirmed that the Vietnamese Government has created all favourable conditionsfor the two countries’ localities and enterprises to intensify cooperation.

For their part, localities have backed the government’s sound polices, andactively connected and sped up the implementation of Vietnam-US collaborativeprojects, he said.

Thehosts expressed their delight at positive developments of Vietnam’ssocio-economic situation as well as in the two countries’ relations.

Theyconfirmed that California State and San Francisco attach importance tofostering the US-Vietnam comprehensive partnership through cooperation withVietnamese localities, pledging to facilitate the expansion of bilateralrelations.

Leadersand representatives from enterprises of the Vietnamese localities then attendeda connectivity roundtable with the business community of San Francisco BayArea.

Earlier,the four provinces, together with Hanoi and northern Thai Nguyen province,visited Washington and Virginia States.-VNA
