- Human resources development in semiconductors should be considered a breakthrough in personnel training, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh said at a conference in Hanoi on April 24.

- Acting President Vo Thi Anh Xuan congratulated outgoing Ambassador of Algeria to Vietnam Abdelhamid Boubazine on his successful tenure in Vietnam during a reception in Hanoi on April 24.

- The Inspection Commission of the Party Central Committee convened its 40th meeting in Hanoi on April 23-24.

The commission looked into the case relating to the Standing Board of Vinh Phuc province’s Party Committee, saying it had violated the principle of criticism and self-criticism, solidarity and unity in the Party and the personnel work; and showed a lack of responsibility and relaxed leadership, letting the Party delegation to the provincial People’s Council and the Party Civil Affairs Committee of the provincial People’s Committee and many other organisations and individuals seriously violate the Party’s rules and the State’s laws during the implementation of some investment projects. Read full story

- The first bilateral conference between the Vietnam Coast Guard (VCG) and the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) took place in Hanoi on April 24.

- Vietnam needs to complete a legal framework to better manage virtual assets (VAs) as well as virtual asset service providers (VASPs), experts said at an annual forum on Blockchain and AI held by the Vietnam Blockchain Association in Hanoi on April 24.
