- General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) Central CommitteeNguyen Phu Trong has sent a letter of congratulations to President of theCambodian People's Party (CPP) Samdech Techo Hun Sen on the successfulorganisation of the fifth Senate election in Cambodia on February 25.

In the letter, Trong affirmed that Vietnam will continue to do its best,together with Cambodia, to preserve and promote the good relationship betweenthe two countries, making its more intensive, substantive and effective, forthe sake of their people and for peace, stability, cooperation and developmentin the region and the world at large. - Relations between Australia and Vietnam are moving towards a new height afterthe two countries celebrated the 50th anniversary of their diplomatic ties lastyear, opening a new chapter to deepen the strategic partnership, saidAustralian Governor General David Hurley.

- The Vietnam National Mine Action Center (VNMAC) on February 28 held a meetingwith representatives of embassies of countries, international organisations,and foreign non-governmental organisations (NGOs) to celebrate its 10thfounding anniversary (March 4, 2014 - 2024).

In 2010, the Vietnamese Government issued a National Action Programme toovercome the consequences of post-war bombs and mines in the 2010-2015 period(Programme 504). To manage, coordinate and implement the programme, on March 4,2014, the Government established VNMAC, under the direction of the PrimeMinister and the management of the Ministry of National Defence. - Vietnamese officials at a workshop in Hanoi on February 28 called on Japan tocontinue its support to Vietnam in protecting and enforcing intellectualproperty (IP) rights, making IP a driving force for economic development.

The workshop on IP rights was held by the Japan Patent Office (JPO) and theJapan External Trade Organisation (JETRO) in coordination with the VietnamDirectorate of Market Surveillance under the Ministry of Industry and Trade(MoIT) and the Vietnamese Ministry of Science and Technology (MoST). - The first Vietnam International Trade Fair for Apparel, Textiles and TextileTechnologies (VIATT) opened in Ho Chi Minh City on February 28.

The expo is co-organised by Messe Frankfurt – a German-based organiser of the world'slargest trade fairs, congresses and events – and the Vietnam Trade PromotionAgency (VIETRADE) under the Ministry of Industry and Trade. Spanning 15,000square metres, it features over 500 booths run by more than 400 domestic andforeign firms from 16 countries and territories worldwide such as the UK,Germany, the US, Switzerland, Japan, the Republic of Korea, China, Thailand,and India. - As many as 42 handicraft artists have been honoured with the title of theHanoi artisan in 2023, with a ceremony held at the centre of Vietnamese craftvillage quintessence in Gia Lam district, home to Bat Trang Ceramic Village, onFebruary 28.

Khanh Hoa gears up for elections, facilitates voting for tourists

Thanh requested a thorough review of voter lists to ensure all eligible voters can exercise their rights. Polling teams were asked to establish advisory groups to assist voters when needed. He also stressed the need to make arrangements so that tourists visiting Nha Trang can cast their ballots in accordance with regulations.

Central Theoretical Council for 2026-2031 term established

Tenth Vietnam–China border defence friendship exchange to feature innovations

Scheduled for March 18–19 in Quang Ninh province of Vietnam and China’s Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, the exchange aims to realise high-level common perceptions between the two Parties and countries on deepening substantive defence cooperation, strengthening friendship and solidarity, and promoting practical collaboration among border protection forces, local authorities and people in border areas, thereby contributing to building a border of peace, friendship, stability, cooperation and development.

Australian expert hails performance of 15th NA, People’s Councils at all levels

During the 15th term, NA deputies raised a number of critical issues with government ministers during question time regarding environmental protection, land administration, and food safety. Deputies were particularly engaged during discussions on amendments to the 2013 Constitution and the Law on the Organisation of Local Administration.

Vietnam, Laos strengthen defence cooperation

Vietnamese PM holds phone talks with Qatari counterpart

Emphasising Vietnam's opposition to the use of force against sovereign states, especially against civilian infrastructure that results in numerous casualties, PM Chinh called for a peaceful solution to the region based on respect for international law, the United Nations Charter, and ensuring the legitimate rights of all parties.
