– Deputy Prime Minister Le Minh Khai on January 12 called onthe Semiconductor Industry Association (SIA) of the US to encourage its memberenterprises to increase investment in Vietnam.

- As a coastal country and a member of the United NationsConvention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS) 1982, Vietnam believes that allactivities of international cooperation, including maritime cooperation, needto be in line with international law, especially the UNCLOS, stated ForeignMinistry's Deputy Spokesperson Pham Thu Hang.

- A ceremony was held in Le Thuy district of the centralprovince of Quang Binh on January 12 to inaugurate the Son Thuy kindergartenand the medical station of Hoa Thuy commune, which were built at a cost of700,000 USD in total provided by the US.

Vietnam, Ireland seek ways to step up bilateral cooperation

Hang proposed the two sides further strengthen political trust, increase high-level and all-level exchanges, and organise youth, student and cultural activities to mark the upcoming anniversary. The Deputy Minister also called on Ireland to soon ratify the EU–Vietnam Investment Protection Agreement (EVIPA), which would create fresh momentum for economic cooperation.

16th NA reviews amendments to four tax-related laws on April 21
