- President of the Republic of Korea (RoK) Yoon Suk Yeol and his wife Kim Keon Hee will pay a state visit to Vietnam from June 22-24 at the invitation of President Vo Van Thuong. On this occasion, President Yoon Suk Yeol granted an interview to Vietnam News Agency. Read full story

- Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh will pay an official visit to China and attend the 14th Annual Meeting of the New Champions of the World Economic Forum (WEF) from June 25-28. Read full story

- Secretary of the Party Central Committee and head of its Commission for Popularisation and Education Nguyen Trong Nghia has hailed the nationwide press system for overcoming the "dual" challenges posed by internal factors and the global economy to fulfill its assigned tasks during the first half of the 13th National Party Congress’s term.

During an interview recently granted to Vietnam News Agency on the occasion of the 98th anniversary of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day (June 21), Nghia said over the past more than two years, press agencies have focused on disseminating resolutions of the 13th National Party Congress through various vivid and diverse forms. Their in-depth and persuasive articles have popularised the Party's viewpoints, policies, tasks, and solutions for socio-economic development, national defence-security, external affairs, and Party building for the 2021-2026 tenure. They encouraged and inspired people from walks of life to engage in the building of the Party and a clean, strong, efficient and effective political system. Read full story

-  Ambassador Le Thi Tuyet Mai, head of the Permanent Mission of Vietnam to the United Nations, WTO and other international organisations in Geneva, has affirmed Vietnam’s commitment to promoting substantive dialogue and effective cooperation with all member states and human rights mechanisms of the United Nations at the interactive dialogue on the annual report of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights (UNHCHR) on June 20.

In her speech, Ambassador Mai emphasised that Vietnam supports the fundamental principles of universality, fairness, objectivity, non-choice and non-interference in internal affairs of countries. Substantial dialogue and cooperation as well as adherence to the above-mentioned principles is the most effective way to promote and protect human rights, she added. Read full story

- Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Le Thi Thu Hang hosted a reception for the European Parliament (EP)’s Delegation for Relations with the Countries of Southeast Asia and ASEAN (DASE) in Hanoi on June 20.

Hang rejoiced at active developments of the relations between Vietnam and the European Union (EU) and its member countries across spheres, from politics-diplomacy to trade, investment and development cooperation. Read full story

- The Vietnam News Agency (VNA) has received congratulations from leaders of the Party, the State and the Vietnam Fatherland Front, representatives from ministries, agencies, organisations and localities, foreign representative agencies in Vietnam, Vietnamese representative offices abroad, and international news agencies on the occasion of the 98th anniversary of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day (June 21).

On behalf of the VNA staff, the Party Committee and leaders of the news agency have extended their deep gratitude to the well-wishers, saying their valuable support have helped the VNA well perform its mission as a key press agency in the national media system. Read full story

- As many as 123 outstanding works of the 17th National Press Awards were honoured at a ceremony in Hanoi on June 21 - Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day.

- Vietnam on June 21 had its first gold medal at the Special Olympic World Games, which is taking place in Berlin, Germany, from June 17-25, after athlete Nguyen Chau Hoang Phuc triumphed in bocce, a ball sport closely related to British bowls and French pétanque.

He successfully beat Molefe Katso of Botswana in the final to earn the medal./. Read full story
