Hanoi (VNA) – Moroccan Ambassador to Vietnam El Houcine Fardani was granted with the insignia: “For Peace and Friendship among Nations,” on June 2, in recognition of his contributions to enhancing the two countries’ relations.

According to President of the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organisations (VUFO) Vu Xuan Hong, during the ambassador’s 10-year tenure from 2006 to 2016, the friendship and cooperation between Vietnam and Morocco has seen positive development.

On the basis of fine political relations, bilateral economic and trade ties have recorded stable growth.

The two countries have also signed agreements in numerous fields like economics, culture, science-technology, and those related to visa exemption and double taxation avoidance, and investment encouragement and protection.

As the head of the diplomatic corps, the ambassador has coordinated closely with the VUFO, the Vietnam-Africa Friendship and Cooperation Association, and Vietnamese localities in carrying out people-to-people diplomatic activities, Hong added.

The diplomat said he is honoured to receive such a noble reward. He hoped to return to Vietnam in the near future as this is the last tenure in his diplomatic cause.-VNA

19 localities eradicate substandard houses

Vietnam accelerates repatriation of citizens detained in Myanmar
