The Medical Committee Netherlands-Vietnam (MCNV), in coordination with the Dutch Embassy in Vietnam, will hold the ‘Joining Forces to Reach the Top of Mount Fansipan’ climb from June 20-23 in Sapa district of northern mountainous Lao Cai province.

The event is part of the activities to mark the 40 th anniversary of Vietnam-Netherlands diplomatic ties and 45 years since the establishment of the MCNV, according to Nhan dan (People) newspaper.

The 45-member climbing delegation includes some young people with disabilities as well as representatives from the MCNV, the Dutch Embassy and relevant central and local agencies.
 
The climb aims to promote social integration for people with disabilities and contribute to strengthening friendship between people.

The MCNV is a Dutch non-governmental organisation currently implementing numerous projects in 16 provinces and cities across the country. The projects support disabled people, women and the elderly and provide treatment for women and children infected with HIV/AIDS, in addition to promoting community development.

The organisation has supported more than 15,000 people with disabilities in provinces and cities across Vietnam over the past 20 past years.-VNA
