Hanoi (VNA) – Music composer Phu Quang won the Grand Prize of the 13th BuiXuan Phai – For Love of Hanoi Awards during aceremony held at the headquarters of the Vietnam News Agency (VNA) in Hanoi onOctober 7.
The annual event, initiated by the VNA’s "The thao va Van hoa" (Sports and Culture) daily, waspart of activities towards the 1,010th anniversary of Thang Long –Hanoi and the 100th birth anniversary of painter Bui Xuan Phai, afounder of modern art in Vietnam.
According to the jury, PhuQuang has been the youngest winning the prize so far with songs about Hanoi. Healso partnered with the event as a member of the jury from its firstedition.
The Work Prize was granted to MarkoNikolic, 33, from Serbia with the novel “Pho Nha Tho” (Church Street). Througha romantic love story, Nikolic depicted typical identity of Hanoi with bothoriental and western features.
The Job Prize went to the Phuc Tanpublic art project carried out by the People’s Committee of Hoan Kiem district,through which domestic and foreign artists turned a garbage collection areainto an art road and conveyed a message of environment protection via the useof recycled items.
A group from Ha Dong district alsoearned the prize with the collection and presentation of about 150 royaldecrees to localities, more than 80 of which were for temples in Hanoi.
The Idea Prize was awarded to the competitionfor design and construction of milestone Km0 in the Hoan Kiem Lake. The contest washeld by the Vietnam Association of Architects' Architecture Magazine under the auspices of the VietnamFine Arts Association.
On the occasion, VNA Deputy General Director Vu Viet Trangand guests cut the ribbon to open an exhibition entitled “Bui Xuan Phai – 100 years oflove for Hanoi” by Tran Chinh Nghia with about 30 paintings of Phai’s portraitsand another exhibition of Bui Xuan Phai’s paintings and sketches collected by painter Van Duong Thanh./.
