Music festival marks Vietnam-EU ties

Spanish musician Pablo Díaz-Reixa alias El Guincho and his band opened a music festival week of European countries and Vietnam on Nov. 28 in Ho Chi Minh City.

The annual music festival, to last through Dec.4, is also part of activities to mark the 20 th anniversary of the European Union-Vietnam relations, Head of the EU delegation to Vietnam Ambassador Sean Doyle said.


Having been held regularly over more than 10 years in Vietnam, the EU music festival has brought western-style music parties to Vietnamese fans.

At this year’s festival, 22 musicians from Belgium’s Wallonia-Brussels, Austria, Germany, the Netherlands and Spain will perform classical music, jazz and pop music.

Over the past 20 years, Vietnam and the EU have seen developments in many areas. Events like the music festival have showed the unity and diversity in the culture of the European Union as well as contributed to enhancing bilateral ties./.
