Hanoi (VNA) - Bad weather caused a Myanmar military plane with 122 people on board to crash last month, local authority announced on July 19, saying it is one of the deadliest aviation accidents in the country's history.
Recordings from the black box showed that the plane had gone into a nosedive after ice built up on the wings and a sudden increase in crosswinds caused the engine to stall, said state media.
Investigators concluded that the crash was not from any act of sabotage, explosion or engine failure, it added.
The black box data was analysed by investigators from Myanmar and Australia.
The 8F-200W plane, serial 5820, of the Myanmar Air Force, was carrying 122 people, including 108 passengers and 14 crew members, and 2.4 tonnes of cargo when it lost contact with air traffic control around 30 minutes after take-off from Myeik city on its way to Yangon.
