Hanoi (VNA) – Myanmar businesses will find it easier for their products to enter the French market, following a pact signed between the Union of Myanmar Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry and the French Myanmar Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
Under the memorandum of understanding (MoU) inked in Yangon on May 6, the Southeast Asian country will also have access to French technological aid and investment in producing value-added goods.
Business leaders from Myanmar said they welcome France's long-term investment to support the development of their country.
The two business organizations will also cooperate in holding trade fairs and introducing business tours, the MoU said.
Statistics showed that the French investment in Myanmar hit 542 million USD as of March this year since late 1988, ranked 12th in the country's foreign investors line-up.
In June 2016, France pledged 200 million EUR (266 million USD) in development aid for Myanmar. - VNA
