Hanoi (VNA) - Myanmar hosted the 18th ASEAN Navy Chiefs’ Meeting in Nay Pyi Taw on October 10.

Themed “Sailing Together: Harmony to Peace and Prosperity”, the meeting drew the participation of representatives from Brunei, Cambodia, Laos, Vietnam, Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, the Philippines, and Myanmar.

Speaking at the event, State Administration Council Member Chief of the General Staff Maung Maung Aye highlighted that Myanmar is actively working with both ASEAN members and neighbouring countries in a friendly manner.

The water areas of ASEAN support the socio-economic development of its people while prioritising regional peace, security, stability and prosperity.
