HCM City (VNA) – National Assembly (NA) Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue on January 26 offered incense to commemorate late NA Chairman Nguyen Huu Tho at his house in Ho Chi Minh City on the occasion of the Lunar New Year (Tet).

Talking with Tho’s first son Nguyen Huu Chau, Hue recalled important milestones in the life and career of the late NA Chairman.

Wishing the family a happy new year, Chairman Hue expressed his hope that they will continue to contribute to the cause of national construction and protection as well as to the activities of the NA.

For his part, Chau said that he always pays attention to the NA’s activities. He appreciated the NA’s approval of the amended Land Law - a major law with special significance in the country's political and socio-economic life, as well as to national defence, security, and environmental protection.

Hue said the 15th NA has continuously promoted the work of perfecting institutions and policies with many laws and resolutions passed to create a transparent and stable legal corridor, thus creating better conditions to ensure legitimate rights and interests of the people and to develop the country sustainably.

Lawyer Nguyen Huu Tho was born in 1910 in Ben Luc district, Long An province. At the first session of the 7th NA, he was elected NA Chairman and Vice President of the Council of State./.
