The NA Chairman warmly welcomed the ambassadors, who will assumetheir assignments in Vietnam in the context of friendship andcooperative relations between Vietnam and the three countriesdeveloping fruitfully. He expressed his wish that the diplomats withtheir experience and understanding of Vietnam will activelycontribute to boosting relations in numerous areas.
At his meeting with Russian Ambassador Andrey Grigorievich Kovtun, NAChairman Trong suggested the two countries bolster cooperation ineconomics, trade, investment and tourism to match with their productive,time-honoured political ties, especially in fields that are Russia ’sstrengths and where Vietnam has needs such as power, oil and gas,education and training.
The two sides need to develop bilateral cooperation at bothgrassroots and central levels, particularly at multi-party forums, hesaid.
At the reception for Polish Ambassador Roman Iwaszkiewicz, the NAChairman offered his condolences over the death of President LechKaczynski and his accompanying delegation in a plane crash in Russiaon April 1. He said he hopes the state and its people will find a wayto recover from the grief and stabilise their country.
He also expressed his wish that the multi-faceted cooperativerelations between Vietnam and Poland will be lifted to a higherlevel in both quality and effectiveness.
Apart from cooperation between the two countries’ governments , thetwo assemblies need to increase exchanges of delegations, informationand experience, he added.
While meeting with Singaporean Ambassador Simon Wong Wie Kuen, the NAChairman underscored the development of Vietnam-Singapore ties in termsof pace, scale and effectiveness, saying that the two countries haveperformed creative and comprehensive cooperation in economics, trade,investment, tourism, health care and education.
He expressed the hope that Singapore, with its important positionin the region, would support Vietnam in fulfilling its role as theChairs of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) and theASEAN Inter-Parliamentary Assembly (AIPA)./.
