Hanoi (VNA) – National Assembly (NA) Chairman VuongDinh Hue received Yamadu Ramon Antonio Orsi Martinez, Governor of Uruguay’sCanelones province, on April 28 (local time), within the framework of hisofficial visit to the country from April 26-28.
The governor briefed the NA leader on the province’sinternational cooperation potential and expressed his wish to furtherstrengthen cooperation with Vietnam’s localities and the country as a whole.
Hue stressed that beside the bilateral relations in variousfields, the ties between the two countries’ localities form one of the factorsto further deepen the cooperation between the two countries, affirming thatVietnam is ready to open its door to welcome Uruguay’s localities, includingCanelones.
He asked the governor to create favourable conditions forbusinesses of the two sides to exchange information and strengthen mutualunderstanding, and expressed his hope that the province and its businesses willhelp accelerate the negotiations and signing of a free trade agreement betweenVietnam and MERCOSUR.
The governor said his province advocates to broadeninternational cooperation to attract foreign investment and hopes Vietnamesefirms to invest in the locality, and affirmed to create every favourableconditions for them.
At the reception, he handed to Hue the letter of intent oncooperation between his province and Vietnam. Hue invited the governor to visitVietnam.
On the occasion, Hue toured a number of productionestablishments and industrial zones in the province.
