Hanoi (VNA) – National Assembly Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan hosted a reception for 70 workers who have been honoured with the third Nguyen Duc Canh Award given by the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour (VGCL) to outstanding labourers with excellent ideas, technological solutions, and inventions.

The NA leader said that she is impressed with the achievements of the workers who introduced a total of 781 projects, ideas, and technological solutions which generated a profit of 74 trillion VND (3.2 billion USD).

The honoured labourers are good examples of energy, dynamism, and creativeness, as well as the ability to overcome difficulties and make contributions to the growth of their companies, she said.

Highlighting that modernisation and industrialisation are strategic tasks in boosting the country’s development, the top legislator stressed that Vietnamese workers, regardless of their field of work, should be made aware of the Party’s policies and orientations in national development.

Ngan asked trade unions at all levels to continue to seek and honour excellent collectives and individuals.

She also pledged that the NA will provide adequate resources to care for labourers, while supervising the implementation of support policies for them, as well as policies related to wages, social insurance, and health insurance.–VNA
