National Assembly Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan (second, left) meets some winners of the third Nguyen Duc Canh Award (Photo: VNA) Hanoi (VNA) – National Assembly Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Nganhosted a reception for 70 workers who have been honoured with the third NguyenDuc Canh Award given by the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour (VGCL) to outstandinglabourers with excellent ideas, technological solutions, and inventions.
The NA leader said that she is impressed with the achievements of the workerswho introduced a total of 781 projects, ideas, and technological solutionswhich generated a profit of 74 trillion VND (3.2 billion USD).
The honoured labourers are good examples of energy, dynamism, andcreativeness, as well as the ability to overcome difficulties and makecontributions to the growth of their companies, she said.
Highlighting that modernisation and industrialisation are strategic tasksin boosting the country’s development, the top legislator stressed thatVietnamese workers, regardless of their field of work, should be made aware ofthe Party’s policies and orientations in national development.
Ngan asked trade unions at all levels to continue to seek and honour excellentcollectives and individuals.
She also pledged that the NA will provideadequate resources to care for labourers, while supervising the implementationof support policies for them, as well as policies related to wages, socialinsurance, and health insurance.–VNA
