Quang Nam (VNA) - National Assembly Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan onJuly 20 visited and presented gifts to policy beneficiary families in Da Nangcity and central Quang Nam province on the occasion of the 73rd anniversary of theVietnam Invalids and Martyrs Day.

Visiting families of Vietnamese heroic mothers’, martyrs’ and wounded soldiers,the NA Chairwoman, on behalf of the Party and State, expressed profound gratitudeto wounded soldiers, war martyrs and revolutionary contributors for theirsacrifice and service during the cause of national liberation, construction anddefence.

Many activities to express gratitude to martyrs, war invalids and otherrevolution contributors are being held nationwide on the occasion.

The Vietnam Invalids and Martyrs Day (July 27) is a special chance for theentire country to commemorate millions of martyrs and war invalids whosacrificed their lives and health during the wars.

In 1947, just two years after President Ho Chi Minh delivered the declarationof independence, the first decree on preferential policies for war invalids andfallen soldiers was issued.

The same year, July 27 was designated as the national war invalids day, whichwas later renamed the War Invalids and Martyrs Day, to call on the entirecommunity to support war invalids and martyrs’ families in acknowledgement oftheir contributions to the nation./.

Quang Ngai to remove hundreds of unregistered fishing vessels

To date, Quang Ngai has 5,194 registered fishing vessels, with data regularly updated in the National Fisheries Database (VNFishbase). The provincial licensing rate for fishing activities has reached 81.94%, while 99% of local vessels required to install vessel monitoring systems (VMS) have complied.

A total of 351 communes free of temporary, dilapidated houses

From February 21-28, 7,540 temporary and dilapidated houses were renovated or replaced nationwide, bringing the total number of facilities improved under humanitarian policy to 115,481. Of these, 62,737 houses were inaugurated, while construction began on another 52,744.
