National Assembly (NA) deputies gathered at a plenary session in the morning of May 31 during the ongoing fifth session to discuss the draft law on grassroots reconciliation.
Truong Thi Mai, member of the NA Standing Committee and Chairwoman of the NA Committee for Social Affairs, presented the NA Standing Committee’s report for the draft law on grassroots conciliation.
During the event, some 27 deputies from 27 provinces and cities gave speeches, focusing on the State’s policies on grassroots conciliation and its management role, rights of reconcilers, operation of grassroots reconciliation organisations, legal value of reconciliation minutes as well as the role of the Vietnam Fatherland Front and its members in grassroots reconciliation organisations.
In the afternoon, deputies discussed in groups projects to build the law on receiving citizens and the law on plant protection and quarantine.
On June 3, deputies are going to discuss the draft amendments to the 1992 Constitution. The session will be televised.-VNA
