NA debates draft revised State Budget Law

National Assembly deputies debated the draft revised State Budget Law on June 2, as part of their ongoing ninth session.
National Assembly deputies debated the draft revised State Budget Lawon June 2, as part of their ongoing ninth session.

Their opinions focused on principles in the management of State budgetand other State-owned financial funds, the decentralisation incontrolling income sources, expenditure tasks and relations betweenbudget levels, as well as regulations of state budget balancing.

Budget overspending, advanced payment of State budget, the settlementof increases and decreases in State budget revenues and spendingcompared to estimates also attracted attention.

Thedeputies also gave their opinions on the responsibilities and power ofthe NA and NA bodies, Government and Ministry of Finance, as well asPeople Councils and People’s Committee at all levels on State budget.

In the afternoon, the deputies worked in groups on the draft Law onOrganisation of Criminal Investigation Body and Law on TemporaryDetention and Custody.-VNA

New impetus for overseas Vietnamese communities

On August 2, 2026, General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam and President To Lam signed the resolution, marking an important shift after more than two decades of implementing Politburo Resolution No. 36-NQ/TW. Vietnam, US step up cooperation in search for missing Vietnamese soldiers

A Vietnamese official proposed that the US continue increasing resources for dioxin remediation at Bien Hoa and Phu Cat airbases, expand projects supporting people with disabilities, enhance the sharing of historical data, provide DNA technology assistance and continue close coordination in the search for missing US service members and Vietnamese soldiers.

Vietnam, Australia seek to forge stronger bonds
