NA leader greets German, Pakistani Ambassadors

National Assembly (NA) Chairman Nguyen Sinh Hung has affirmed that the Vietnamese law-making body will do its utmost to facilitate the development of ties between Vietnam and Germany.

While receiving German Ambassador to Vietnam Jutta Frasch in Hanoi on January 22, Hung hailed Germany as one of Vietnam ’s most important partners in Europe.

He added that the strategic partnership, established in October 2011, has driven cooperation in politics, economics, trade, investment, development, education and training between the two countries.

Speaking highly of Frasch’s role in promoting comprehensive links between the two nations, Hung suggested that she actively works to enhance cooperation between the two legislative bodies, especially the exchange of delegations and experience in policymaking.

Frasch expressed her hope that the two NAs will increase exchanges between policymakers, contributing to the bilateral friendship and benefiting the two peoples.

Welcoming outgoing Pakistani Ambassador to Vietnam Shahid M. G. Kiani, Hung affirmed Vietnam’s policy of attaching importance to the development of ties with South Asian countries, including Pakistan.

Hung said he hopes the Ambassador will support cooperation between the two NAs to increase mutual understanding and friendship between the two peoples.

Kiani said Pakistan treasures ties with Vietnam, and hopes the two legislatures will establish a parliamentary friendship group to bridge links between the two NAs and peoples.-VNA
