Hanoi (VNA) – The National Assembly (NA) Standing Committee wrapped up the three-day thematic session on law building in preparation for the coming 8th session of the 15th legislature on August 14.

Committee members scrutinised 10 draft laws, namely the Law on Geology and Minerals, the Law on amendments and supplements to several articles of the Law on Pharmacy, the revised Law on Trade Unions, the revised Law on Human Trafficking Prevention and Control, the revised Law on Notarisation, the revised Law on Cultural Heritage, the Law on Urban Planning and Rural Planning, the Law on Fire Prevention, Fighting and Rescue, the revised Law on Value Added Tax, and the Law on Justice for Minors.

Delivering the closing speech, NA Chairman Tran Thanh Man highly valued the drafting and verification bodies’ preparation of documents and consideration of all opinions that NA deputies raised at the parliament’s 7th session in May-June. He also welcomed the committee members’ straightforward comments helping perfect the draft laws.

He asked the verification and drafting bodies to continue coordinating materials to be submitted to the approaching conference of full-time NA deputies, slated for August 28-30.

Meanwhile, the NA Standing Committee is scheduled to hold its 36th session from August 19 to 22. Leaders of some ministries and sectors will field questions about the issues within their remit at the event.

Given this, the top legislator requested relevant ministries and sectors, along with the Council for Ethnic Affairs and committees of the NA, to work closely with one another to prepare for the 36th session./.
