The Standing Committee of the 13 th National Assembly convened its third session in Hanoi on Oct. 3, under the chair of National Assembly Chairman Nguyen Sinh Hung.
The session will take place in six days from Oct. 3 to 4 and Oct. 11 to 14, in preparation for the second session of the 13 th National Assembly, scheduled to open later this month.
NA Chairman Hung said the committee will hear reports reviewing a project to grow 5 million hectares of forest and a number of issues related to salary.
The full-time deputies will give opinions on 10 bills, of which four draft laws will be submitted to the upcoming NA session for approval. They include the draft Law on Measurements, Law on Complaints, Law on Denouncements, and Maritime Law.
The committee will also deliberate the preparations for the second session of the 13 th National Assembly, outline the supervision programmes of the National Assembly and its standing committee in 2012, and discuss some other important issues.
As scheduled, the committee will contribute opinions to work reports of the Supreme People’s Court and the Supreme People’s Procuracy as well as the Government’s reports on settlement of complaints and denouncements by citizens in 2011./.
