NA Standing Committee wraps up sixth session

The 14th National Assembly’s Standing Committee wrapped up its sixth session in Hanoi on January 20 after three days of sitting.

Hanoi (VNA) – The 14th National Assembly’s Standing Committee wrapped up its sixth session in Hanoi on January 20 after three days of sitting.

During the session, full-time legislators gave feedback on eight bills, including the amended Law on the State Compensation Liability, the amended Law on Judicial Assistance, the Law on Foreign Trade Management, the Law on Support for Small and Medium-sized Enterprises, the Law on Planning, the amended Law on State Asset Management and Use, the Law on Management and Use of Weapons, Explosives and Supporting Tools, and the Law on Guard Force.

NA Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan asked relevant units to work closely with drafting agencies to acquire lawmakers’ opinions to refine reports on revising bills.

The NA Office will devise a plan to hold a conference gathering full-time legislators to discuss a number of draft laws to submit them to the NA’s third session.

The NA Standing Committee also adopted two resolutions on regulations on cooperation between the Supreme People’s Committee and the Defence Ministry in managing the apparatus of military courts, and regulations on supervision procedures of the NA, the NA Standing Committee, and the NA Delegations.

The standing boards of the NA’s Law Committee and Committee for Judicial Affairs were asked to closely liaison with the Supreme People’s Court, the Defence Ministry, the NA General Secretary, and concerned agencies to acquire feedback at meetings to refine draft resolutions to submit to the NA Chairwoman for approval.

Legislators also debated the draft resolution on taking disciplinary action against retired officials and cadres.

Following the session, the top legislator requested leaders of concerned agencies to realise conclusions reached by the committee and prepare for the seventh session slated for February 20-23.-VNA
